Dear Members

Sir David Tang, our Patron, has most generously donated to RGS Members a large block of the best seats for the two sessions of "How and What and Why do Writers Write".  This is now an annual event, with each session having a panel of three celebrated authors, as follows:

Wilbur Smith: The celebrated South African novelist, whose 35 published novels have sold more than 120 million copies and been made into 5 films.  Mr Smith writes historical fiction set in Southern Africa spanning three centuries, including the best-sellers When the Lion Feeds, River God and Predator

Simon Winchester, OBE:  One of the most widely read historical writers of the era, including of the acclaimed The Surgeon of Crowthorne, about the publication of the first Oxford English Dictionary, The Day the World Exploded and The Map That Changed The World.

Hon. Hannah Rothschild:  Famous for her documentaries and films, including The Jazz Baroness and Mandelson: The Real PM?, she is now an active writer including of the biography The Baroness: The Search for Nica the Rebellious Rothschild and her first novel The Improbability of Love.
