Dr. Knight's lecture will explore all the environmental and social issues that are caused by a simple home improvement project. This will introduce deforestation, child labour and lots more before exploring what trade can and cannot do to drive improvements. The Chair of the British Government's Advisory Panel on "Consumer Products and the Environment" will repeat his highly recommended lecture given to the Society in London in November 2000.
