Afghanistan Dinner Lecture
In November 2002, we are delighted to welcome to Hong Kong one of the great travellers and travel writers of our time, Nick Danziger, to speak on Afghanistan: 20 Years of Travels. Nick Danziger went to school in Switzerland, then to Chelsea Art School in London. Later he became a visiting lecturer in photography at art schools and universities in London and New York. In 1982 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship to follow ancient trade routes in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China. In this lecture, Mr. Danziger will speak from his unique knowledge of Afghanistan, drawing on his 20 years of travels around the country, among every tribe and region, and in war and peace, to draw a picture of this most extraordinary country. The lecture will include details of an undercover journey around Afghanistan made as recently as the summer of 2002. After dinner, Mr. Danziger will show one of his films on Afghanistan.
