Every year, thousands of migratory birds visit and stay at Mai Po and the Deep Bay area, before flying North for breeding. This guided tour has been organised to show Members this fascinating scene. An experienced guide conducts the tour to appreciate the mangrove as well as other wildlife on Deep Bay. The group then has a chance to look closely at hundreds of thousands of migratory birds. The group also walks on the longest boardwalk in Mai Po and does birdwatching on floating bird hides.

The RGS is pleased to offer a guided tour to the Mai Po Marshes, a large wetland nature reserve managed by WWF, located in the North-west New Territories. Mai Po is an internationally significant wetland, which is listed by the Ramsar Convention, and supports globally-important numbers of wetland birds, which chiefly arrive in winter and during spring and autumn migrations.
