Drawing on ancient poetry, mythology and historical art, it offers a distinctive reinterpretation through a captivating array of artefacts, including porcelain, silverware, jade, jewellery, icons and paintings.

These artifacts are presented alongside texts that juxtapose Western voices such as Homer, Hesiod and Lord Byron, with Chinese poets including Li Bai, Liu Che, Cen Shen and Du Fu.

The exhibition is held at GuWei Museum, founded by the Sapientia Foundation. “GuWei” merges the Chinese surnames of the museum’s Italian founder and his Chinese wife and co-founder—an East-meets-West concept that reflects the very spirit of the museum’s mission. Blending education, exhibition, and cultural exchange, GuWei Museum showcases a rich collection of antiquities from East and West—ceramics, silverware, paintings, textiles, jewellery and more—offering a meaningful journey through the shared history of civiliaations.
