One of South America’s most scenic mountains, Mount Fitz Roy is situated in Patagonia, on the border between Argentina and Chile.  Located in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, its granite peak rises to 11,171 ft.  The mountain is named after Captain Robert FitzRoy who, as the captain of Charles Darwin’s HMS Beagle, who studied the region on during the Voyage of the Beagle. 
 
The film is shot under rapidly changing weather conditions, giving power to the amazing cinematography of the Mount Fitzroy region.  The artists braved brutal hiking schedules to climb the peak and the ice fields.  Blending contemporary dance with raw, nature-based imagery of the landscapes of Patagonia, the film treats the landscape as a partner rather than a backdrop.  The extraordinary terrain and fatigue strip away the artists’ plans and expectations.
 
 
Patsy Lo is from Hong Kong and was a senior executive at Apple Inc for two decades, working across several countries.  She then trained as a dancer in Paris and is now full-time performance artist and filmmaker.  Her works reBIRTH and ANAMNESIS have gained international recognition and have been presented at major dance festivals and platforms.  She continues to shape her distinctive voice as a performance artist, choreographer and producer, dividing her time between Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo.
