In this practical workshop, Ali shares techniques to improve your Travel Photography, including Composition, Lighting, Storytelling and approaching people on the street. He also introduces creative ways to make your photographs more unique and intentional, and shares tips on how to make the most of your Smartphone camera.

The first session takes place in the classroom, where Ali covers the essential techniques and principles of Travel Photography. Participants then head out on a walk around Wan Chai to take photographs of their choice, be it architecture, landmarks, people or green spaces.

Back in the classroom, Ali introduces some of the best free Smartphone apps for Editing and Retouching. He then leads a practical editing session, with hands-on advice on how to enhance your images and personalised feedback to help turn good photographs into exceptional ones.

The workshop is also suitable for students, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Ali Ghorbani has photographed in over 35 countries and has worked with leading brands including Porsche, Adobe, Dom Pérignon, Disney and Four Seasons. He has also served as an official photographer at the Hong Kong Rugby 7s and Art Basel, and as a content creator for Huawei. Ali has conducted photography workshops for over eight years for clients including Adobe, the British Consulate, Lan Kwai Fong Group, Aberdeen Marina Club and Sun Life. Early in his career, he was mentored by Henry Dallal, a National Geographic photographer and official photographer for Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II and several royal families. Ali is also the creator of the first Smartphone Photography Masterclass for Hong Kong schools, and his work has been featured by Samsung and exhibited in Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, New York and Rome.
