The RGS-HK is pleased to welcome Alexandra Unrein to lead a guided walking tour exploring the vibrant street art scene of Central. From colourful murals tucked away in the streets and alleys to striking works by local and internationally recognised artists, this walk offers a fresh perspective on Hong Kong’s urban landscape and creative culture.

Street art has become a distinctive part of Hong Kong’s visual identity, transforming walls, buildings and unexpected corners of the city into a constantly evolving open-air gallery. During the walk, participants discover the stories and inspirations behind selected works, learn about the artists and their creative processes, and explore how street art has developed within Hong Kong’s unique urban environment. With her extensive knowledge of the local scene, Alexandra also takes participants beyond the artwork itself to uncover the stories and people behind the walls.

The tour is led by Alexandra Unrein, a street art photographer, tour guide and author. Originally from Berlin, Alexandra first visited Hong Kong more than 15 years ago and has since become deeply involved in the city’s street art scene. She has documented Hong Kong’s street art through photography, interviewed local and international artists, and has been leading street art tours since 2018, when she began conducting tours for the HKwalls Street Art Festival. She is also the founder of Wanderlust Walks Hong Kong, specialising in cultural and street art walks.

Alexandra is the author of Colourful Hong Kong – Street Art Stories, which documents the development of Hong Kong’s street art scene through her photography, research and conversations with artists.
